I don't know why the New York Times gave the new Coen brothers' movie, Burn After Reading, such a lackluster review. I saw it last Friday and it was so hilarious and awesome. It could have used a little bit of an epilogue at the end. But the whole cast was fantastic (John Malkovich is brilliant, Brad Pitt and Frances McDormand are hilarious and George Clooney continues to pull off the loveable asshole). Check out the preview and then go see the film. You won't regret it.
So I realize that everyone has probably heard of Hulu.com by now, the site where you can watch tons of free content from NBC and FOX as well as some full-length movies. But we've been poking around and thought we'd take a chance to share some of it's highlights (and some of it's problems).
First, the pros: free tv online!! As someone who doesn't own a TV but does occasionally want to watch an episode of The Simpsons, Hulu is great. It has hundreds of full length shows and movies as well as a variety of clips. The video player is high quality, runs smoothly on any halfway decent internet connection, and allows you to view in full screen. or pop the video out of the Hulu page. You can also share videos using a variety of social networking sites as well as embed them like so --
Cons: For some reason some shows (like Saturday Night Live) have no full episodes available, only clips. They definitely haven't maximized the social networking potential of the site: all you can do right now is comment on videos. Also it seems like there's a limit of how many episodes a current show can have up at any given time, which means if you missed the pilot for Canterbury's Law you're screwed and the episodes that are up there aren't really worth jack to you.
