People in the Middle for Obama

This week, instead of one video, you get 25!

Head over to People in the Middle for Obama to see video testimonials of republicans, libertarians, independents, and right-leaning Democrats who are voting for Obama this election. The site and the videos have a great, clean design that, along with the music, brings to mind a Mac ad.

Here's something to wet your whistle with.

The Brokers With Hands on Their Faces

In light of the economic crisis, one blog is chronicling a mysterious Wall Street phenomenon: Why do stressed out brokers always have their hands on their face?

Funny? Sad? Both?

Predict the Election Outcome and win $1,000 for Charity

This is a fun game and also an interesting way to follow how voters are feeling about the election.

Peritus Pundit asks you to guess who will win, Obama or McCain, in which states by filling in a map of the US.

After the Closing Date, all eligible entries will be compared against the Final Results on: 1) the winner of the popular vote of the Election; and 2) the winner of the popular vote of the Election in each state. The entry that contains the most answers that are closest to the Final Results will win first prize. The entries that contain the second and third most accurate answers will win second and third prize respectively.
First Prize: Peritus Pundit donates $1000 to a charity of choice (Chosen Charity) and send you a crystal bowl (retail value $225).

Second Prize: Peritus Pundit donates $500 to the Chosen Charity.

Third Prize: Peritus Pundit donates $250 to the Chosen Charity.

One of the coolest features is a map showing the average predictions. Obviously it's impossible to know how accurate or inaccurate of a sample population it represents, but it's still pretty darn interesting.

Design Your Own Tequila Bottle

1800 Tequila is letting you design your own bottle. Just upload your artwork and rotate, re-size, and position it to fit on a bottle. Once you're done you're automatically entered into a contest to win $10,000 and appear in an ad campaign. Also, if you're feeling flush, you can pay $475.00 (not including shipping) to have the bottle you designed created and shipped to you. This is especially silly when you see the tiny, tiny print on the bottom of the buy page that says "For legal reasons, your custom bottle will not contain 1800 tequila". So $475.00 for an empty bottle? What a deal...

And coming soon, the website will let you design your own "kicks". Web Diversions will keep you posted...

Palin as President

What's this? It's Friday: where's the Friday Drive-In? This isn't a video?

I know, I know. But this one is so good I couldn't keep it under my hat until Monday.

Palin as President is an easter-egg filled treasure hunt of comedy. Click around the image of Plain in the Oval Office to find the funnies. The best part is the site will be updated everyday until November 4th. I've been tracking it for a couple days and it only gets funnier (more depressing?).

Banksy's "Village Pet Store and Charcoal Grill"

Banksy has created an insane installation in the West Village (that's NYC, of course): an animatronic leopard, fish sticks swimming in a fish bowl, chicken nuggets that peck at a dish of dipping sauce... Crazy. Amazing. It's open from 10am - Midnight until halloween. 89 7th ave, between West 4th and Bleeker I'll be there tonight at some point. See you there?

Google the Past

Today, in honor of Google's 10th birthday, they are giving you a chance to search their oldest available index. It's a great way to find things you thought were lost forever. If the search results lead to a page that doesn't exist anymore, you can still see it using the Way Back Machine (which deserves a post of its own some day).

I found an ancient, embarrassing, and now offline diaryland journal of mine from high school. Let me know what you find.

Hilarious Comics

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I have been one busy little blogger.

Married to the Sea is another website of great, one-shot comics by Drew and Natalie Dee. Drew also does the comics formerly none as Where Are the Dogs Humping (which now appears to be called Superpoop).
